In August 2026, Fayetteville had 1,040 active residential listings and approximately five months of inventory, according to Longleaf Pine MLS. These figures cover the latest complete month and were retrieved September 10, 2026. Active inventory was up from 943 listings in August 2025, an increase of 97 homes, or approximately 10.3%. Inventory increased through spring and summer 2026. The MLS reported 885 active listings in March, 949 in May, 985 in June, 1,017 in July, and 1,040 in August. Available supply therefore continued building during the summer relocation period. The report does not identify which listings involved military households, so these changes cannot be attributed solely to PCS activity. The August 2026 property-type breakdown was: Single-family homes: 915 active listings and approximately four months of inventory. Condominiums and townhomes: 118 active listings and approximately eight months of inventory. Other residential property categories accounted for the remaining seven active listings. Months of inventory compares available housing supply with the pace of sales. The condo and townhome segment had more supply relative to its sales activity than the single-family segment.
